The Turbo Turtle.
So here's the progression of "The Turbo Turtle"
I first saw it in highschool in 05' where it was owned by a friend who inherited it from his mom. He nor she had any idea what it was so needless to say, I instantly fell in love with it.. A year later I was told the car had been parked because it wouldn't run for unknown reasons and was now for sale.
I paid $400 and it was mine, MY 95' Eclipse GST. I had it towed home and diagnosed it with a blown headgasket, crankwalk and a near destroyed automatic transmission.
Fast foward to 07' The car was now running with a 6-bolt block, 7-bolt head and a 5-speed swap. Bone stock performance wise, T25, stock exhaust, even stock air filter!
Thats when this race took place.
08'- The car underwent a small series of modifications. Intake, Exhaust, Boost controller,Gauges, suspension, etc.
09'-The next round of modifications got a little more serious. Big 16g, SAFC, FMIC, o2 dump, denso 720's, walbro 255 and a few more bits.
Half way through the year it was running like this...
10'- The car stayed mostly the same I just enjoyed driving it/trying to make it reliable. I started filling up with E85 and upping the boost. First to 18psi, then 22, then 26, finally i was running the turbo to its max pressure at 30psi! Wheelspin in 3rd began to be a problem. The car was making right around 400whp and was an absolute blast to drive! Then the water pump started to go out, not bad for 5 years of abuse! I decided to go all out and just build it right, build my own little monster..
Her last days with a 16g.
Here.
Here.
11'- The car currently sits with a 2.4l block, Dohc head, fully built internals, a Holset HX40, and a host of other ridiculously expensive bs. A teardown/rebuild that was supposed to take 3 months has taken over a year and $4000. I hope to have it done within the next few weeks but I firmly stand in the position that the car WILL NOT even make an attempt to run until I feel it is 100% ready.

Re: The Turbo Turtle.
So my Ecu chipping didn't go nearly as well as planned. the ECU wont connect with my laptop and i believe my board may be fucked. I'm currently talking with the owners of DSMlink to see if they can fix it and get it working correctly..
On the other hand the Aeromotive 340lph is hooked up, found a knock sensor plug and cranked her over for the first time!

Re: The Turbo Turtle.
the door come out ok? It probably needs hit with 2k sand paper and spirits ( did that to mine look really good ). Also, Could of at least took a video or something if no one was there to see it crank over. I mean it's not fired up or anything but still it moves around and makes noise. you'd be surprise how often that is entertaining : D lol

Re: The Turbo Turtle.
Got word from the owners of DSMlink today and i guess i'll just let them do the talking..
"We have your ECU in here for testing. It's definitely a mess! Dave has already spent 30 minutes just cleaning it up to the point where we can attempt a full estimate. It has a NUMBER of broken tracks and missing pads. Far more than we could normally quote repair for, but since we're already into it for 30 minutes anyway, we decided to cut the quote down as much as we could to make it work.
Even so, we're looking at an 80 minute quote ($120) to basically repair all these broken tracks, install a new socket, replace the caps and warranty the work.
If you can give me the go ahead on this, we'll get started."
Needless to say I'm speechless about the customer service these guys have given me so far. The only company to come even close so far has been ExtremePSI and they seem light years away...so far...

Re: The Turbo Turtle.
ECU is back!!
Going to hopefully go ahead and start all the preliminary startup procedures as well as...
1-having a buddy (jarrod) do some soldering to my harness
2-begin making quite possibly the most ghetto intake ever constructed
3-Finish hooking up fuel system, including draining all the old E85 out of the tank and replacing it with good
4.install new timing cover so i can actually set base timing
5.insure CAS is inverted or that the injectors/coil wires are in the correct allocation
ETC ETC ETC!!!
