2nd Annual Cruise For Tots Toy Drive here in Newark

When: December 1st 12-3pm
Where: Meijers (1155 N. 21st Newark Ohio)
What: Charity Toy Drive + Used Blanket/Coat Drive
Most of you know about this event, but for those that done let me tell you. Last year a few of us on here came up with the idea to have a Toy Drive to help out kids in need here in the Newark area. It was a great excuse to not only help others out but to bring your cars out for one last meet. The turnout last year wasn't too bad considering we threw it together in 3 weeks time. 252 toys and 2 bicycles were collected and donated to the Salvation Army.
This year we have been promoting the event more and hoping for a bigger turnout than last year. The goal this year is 300 toys. The only requirement we have for those donating is 1 boy and 1 girl toy, new and unopened. We encourage everyone to purchase the toys at Meijers since they were the only store in town nice enough to allow us to hold this event. This is not a must, but as I said its encouraged, the more we buy from Meijers, the happier they are to allow us to hold this in their parking lot yearly.
