Re: The Turbo Turtle.
Just a quick update,
So far the last few weeks have been both good and bad. Good because it runs like a champ at idle and cruising speed with afr's right where I like them. Bad because anything over 40% throttle and the car starts to lean out. I've traced this down to the densos probably needing cleaned after sitting full of e85 for 2 years. So the car will be put on hold until I decide to either switch back to pump gas or pull the trigger on either some 1600s or BlueMax 2150s..

i know 1600's can be found for 200-300 used but how about the BlueMax? also couldn't you just get the denso's cleaned? For fun wanna post some of those DSM link charts ?

Re: The Turbo Turtle.
The BlueMax's are around 300-350 but idle is supposed to be far superior to the Bosch 1600's which can be had for around 200. Looking at the chart it's obvious why, the dip in the chart is around idle/cruise area due to the "bounce" of the injector pintle. I'm honestly just considering going with the bosch's and lowering BFP so i can hopefully get past the little hiccup in the graph.
Who cares about idle anyways?

Shes officially road legal!! Well sort of lol.. got plates today. Also found the backside of the compressor cover was leaking which is a common issue with Holsets and picked up a new oil drain gasket (sorry Tim!) So hopefully I can get that, the bumper and hood on and get some real skreet miles on her!

Re: The Turbo Turtle.
Well short update, I haven't really been driving the DSM much except to Corts funeral over the last few weeks but I did finally manage to upgrade the filter and regulator.
After boost leak testing the car again I found another culprit to be leaky TB shaft seals which is yet another common problem and tossed another TB on. I got one good pull and completely broke loose in 2nd gear and let off. next pull back to shit. So anyways I just finished a rebuild on that TB and rewired the fuel pump two weeks ago, so hopefully those will remedy some of my issues.
In other words I'm finishing the build at a very leisurely pace.

Wow, long time no update...
Well she's been up and running for a few weeks now. My culprit was a bad fuel pump, which I was running a BRAND NEW aeromotive 340...swapped to the walbro 400lph and dialed in the fuel pressure and away she went!
Dsmlink is estimating around 350whp@12-15psi and the torque from the 2.4 is awesome! It's regularly breaking tires loose in 3rd which on my 16g was difficult at times. I really am happy with it, but with my new job and its crazy work schedule its a pain to get it out anymore...
Anyways here's a vid! You can't really tell but trust me she's spinning, ask my co-worker! Lol
